Chief Judge of Alabama's Supreme Court, Justice Roy Moore,
on Wednesday requested the state's probate judges not to issue marriage
licenses to same-sex couples in spite of a decision by the U.S. Preeminent
Court a year ago legitimizing gay marriage.
Supporting his request, Justice Moore said Alabama judges
were bound by the state Supreme Court's decision last March stopping same-sex
marriage until that court decides the impact on the condition of the national
decision.
