The steps to take when consulted by a client to sell a property are the various stages in a contract of sale such as:

(a)    Compliance with the pre – contract stage which involves negotiation and preliminary investigation,

(b)    Compliance with the contract stage which involves the drafting of the contract of sale,

(c)    Compliance with the post contract stage which involves the deducing of title, investigation of title and the drafting of a search report,

(d)    Compliance with the completion stage which involves preparation, execution and exchange of the deed of assignment and original title documents and


(e)    Compliance with the perfection stage which involves post completion activities of obtaining Governor’s consent, Stamping of the Deed of assignment and Registration of the deed at the Land Registry and Corporate Affairs Commission as the case may be.
